Dear Parents,

STEMGuyana, in association with our partners and sponsors is pleased to offer to all Guyanese parents a chance to learn the information your child should be covering in their 1st – 10th grade classes.  To that end, we have worked with international curriculum specialists, local teachers and academically outstanding interns to produce nearly 1000 lesson plans covering Math, Science and English classes.

Our goal is to make parents better prepared education advocates and home assistants for their students.  Education is the most important path to social mobility (a better life) and our mission is to empower parents to join the team of stakeholders supporting the education of their children.

Although your child may be in term 2 of classes, our recommendation is that you start reviewing from the 1st lesson of the 1st term and complete all subsequent lessons at a rate of at least 3 per week.  We ask that you review the content with your child after every class.  The lessons we provide should also match your MOE worksheets, so feel free to search for a particular topic if your child is struggling.

STEMGuyana Culture & Expectations

• All children should be encouraged, loved and treated with respect
• We would like our children to be confident, and to be able to communicate effectively.  We also want them to understand that failure is part of the process.  In all things we encourage our children not to give up.

  Once registered, test your login (enter username & password)
  Click on lessons and review the lesson plans enteredNote: If you do not complete the profile form completely, you will not be able to access all elements of the program.  All children in a household need their own accounts.

  What is expected of you?

• Read and review lesson plan document
• Review video and answer questions
• Help our child to get to their lesson plans, monitor them as they read, help them if they struggle with reading
• Ensure that they complete the lesson questions (write in their notebooks)
• Ensure that they understand the concept
• Monitor them as they work on their animation projects
• Ensure that they click [attendance] on app and click [Completed] on the lesson plans
